Wednesday Sept 1 - London

Urban art - using house bricks
We arrived in London at 5:30am! caught the underground to Waterloo Station.
Bright Sunshine and a crisp morning- though we had to check our watches to remind ourselves it was only morning.

We walked from our friends' apartment across the Golden Jubilee bridge,
up past Trafalgar Square.
Trafalgar Square has been transformed by stopping the feeding of pigeons. There are now more people than pigeons - quite a change from the last time we were there though it was fairly quiet in the morning. By evening it was buzzing with people.

From there we walked slowly up Regent St - I say slowly not because of the pace of our waling but because of the frequent stops to check out the variety of shops on the way!

We were on our way to meet one of the Turkey tour group who was also in London for a few days and to visit the British Museum. A wonderful collection of ancient relics plundered from Greece, Turkey and Egypt among other places. We wonder whether there are any ancient artifacts left for us to see in Greece when we get there!

This row of houses remoinded us of Mary Poppins.
