Aug 3 - Hanoi

Today we walked around the large lake in the old city, visited a ceramics company - Cerender with an incredible range of hand made ceramics from tiny bowls and chopstick rests to meter wide wall platters. We then visited the Vietnamese Women’s Museum. An interesting exhibition of marriage tradition over the years as well as an account of the many women who have featured as leaders, both political and in the armed forces. Women appear to have been accepted as leaders for at least the last 100 years. Something of a contrast to our own history.
