Andrew & Claire Livingstone have been working with GBU (the International equivalent of AFES) in Lausanne for the past 2 years. Lausanne is in the French speaking part of Switzerland and the local buildings reflect that French connection. It sits on the edge of Lake Geneva directly opposite the French town of Evian (as in the famous mineral water).
We enjoyed catching up with Andrew & Claire and hearing some of the things they're doing here with international students. They operate mostly in English but are working on their French, including attending the local French speaking evangelical church in Renens, their local suburb.
Lausanne is a mixture of old and new. It's the home of the IOC and FIFA and has a large pedestrian precinct in the centre of the town which Andrew kindly showed us around.
