Prague has not only old houses but also some very modern ones as well. The Dancing house is a famous landmark, with a quirky sense of humour in its design. The locals call the buildings Fred & Ginger.
It must be Christmas in August today as we visited Wenceslas Square, named after the Good King who was actually Duke of Bohemia here in the 10th Century. The Wenceslas Square is known for its buildings, many of which are designed in Art Nouveau style. Again, beautifully decorated and preserved buildings. I particularly liked the Grand Europa Hotel which reminded me of the Grand Budapest Hotel (a recent film for those who haven't yet seen it.)

Finally we walked past the Powder Tower, so called because it was used to store gunpowder in the 17th century. It was built in the late 15th century as one of the original 13 city gates of the old city. Its design reflects that of the Towers on the Charles Bridge. Next to it is one of the most opulent hotels I've seen, the Kings Court Hotel.
