It's overcast, cool and threatening rain, so we put on our warm jackets, pack our rain jackets ans head for Lake Constance (or Bodensee as the locals call it). We're staying in a renovated farmhouse that's now a comfortable B&B but it's around 2okm from the lake which equates to 30km by mostly narrow winding roads. Uberlingen is another city dating back to Roman times and before. It's now the second largest city in the region and this time of year a major tourist destination. Lake Constance is 63km long and up to 14km wide so a very large lake with lots of sailing boats on it, even on a cool day like today.
