Monday June 17

From Galway to Connemara via Cong in County Mayo. We stopped at the Cong Abbey and Woods which was spectacular. In the woods just outside the abbey is a "Spirit of Place" building designed to celebrate the Fishers of Men, designed and built by 30 architect students from the Catholic University and 5 mosaic artists under the stewardship of Travis Price, Professor of Architecture. There are 390 mosaic panels that were installed in just 9 days. A few of these are shown here. On our was to Clifden in Connemara we passed lake after lake. Such beautiful countryside, even in the rain.
